How to patent my anti-car theft invention?

Postby jordi » Tue Nov 22, 2011 4:20 pm

I came up with the idea of making a car alarm more effective. Instead of just a beeping sound, the car will also physically spin in circles making it impossible for the wanna-be car theft to gain entry. This would be performed by a post that comes down from the bottom, center of the vehicle, allowing it to spin in place. Where do I submit this idea to and how long before I can get revenue from this? Thanks.

You will never succeed with this, sorry. The first time your spinning car hit someone, the company would have a huge lawsuit.

What do you plan on using for power to power this action? If the engine is not working?

And yet another problem is what about false alarms. I've set off the alarm in my car dozens of times. I don't want the car to jack up and start spinning, smashing itself against a fire plug or other cars, causing mucho damage.

And last problem, all of this equipment would weigh hundreds of pounds, which reduces the gas mileage by a bit, just at a time when the automakers are under pressure to reduce mileage.

You've already given away too many details here, so you've already made it possible for someone to steal your invention.

Not that anyone would, because it's not that good of an idea. It would almost certainly cause major damage to the car, not to mention anything around it. So your car wouldn't be stolen, but it would be totaled and you'd be facing a lawsuit from whoever was parked next to you. Plus, the center of the car is where people sit, there's no room to put a big motorized post in it.

This is quite offensive to everybody including your car that may smash itself into pieces damaging the neighboring properties and subjecting people to dangers. You would get nowhere with this idea and no invention no revenue .
