Indeed! Excellent source too. Let the silence continue, only to be interrupted by the crying of the GOP about the revealed proof of voter manipulation, or rather lack thereof. Voter fraud is almost nonexistent. 0.0002 percent in fact.

The voter ID does not prevent corruption on the local government's interior. It only prevents voter fraud from the external sources. It does not address "ballot box stuffing."

@Brouhaha: Good point. A FREE voter ID. Then that will shut up all the people complaining that it will create a burden for the poor to vote.

Ahh, but this is election fraud pure and simple. And since the Republicans have made that the base of their national campaign operation for over 20 years they do NOT like this kind of thing coming out, especially in an election year.

In case someone doesn't view your source I decided to bring some of it forward.

The problem is rooted in economic woes, which is why votes are routinely for sale. In that part of the state, jobs are scarce and poverty is high. Controlling local government means controlling jobs.
“These folks go out and hijack the local elections for their own purposes and then they use those jobs to enrich themselves and their confederates. In Clay County, according to court testimony, some of the funds to purchase votes came from massive cocaine and marijuana drug trafficking operations. Prosecutors say more than $400,000, part of it drug proceeds, was pooled by DEMOCRATIC and REPUBLICAN politicians over several elections, and spent to buy the votes of more than 8,000 voters, usually at $50 apiece.

As you can see, both Dems and Reps were involved but the reason they did it was because Obama's economy is so bad that votes can be purchased.

I don't understand your comment about silence from Republicans. ?¿ The video has both Republican and Democrat election officials who have been prosecuted and admitted to buying votes.
====== ==== ==== ==== ===== ==== ====
I had no idea about buying was nearly as common as it appears to be in Kentucky. Also I didn't know it was ill legal to pay people to vote but I see where it should be.
===== ==== ==== ==== ===== ==== ====
I don't know a person who pays for a vote knows if the vote is actually cast the way they ask for it to be. I know when vote I am the only one which knows how I mark the ballot.
===== ==== ==== ==== ===== ==== ====
If I was offered $100 for my vote I would sell it in an instant and simply vote the way I originally intended.
==== ==== ==== ==== ===== ==== ====
There was one person who allegedly sold four vote and at $25 per vote received $100. In answer to your question I don't think a voter photo Id would reduce vote buying. It would stop the person who said he voted four times.
==== ==== ==== ==== ===== ==== ====
To vote four times he would have to present for valid state issued photo voter Id cards which would entail a lot more effort and proof of identity then simply picking names off of tombstones or from a mailbox and voting.
==== ==== ==== ==== ===== ==== ====
If you realize the 2000 presidental electiin was decided by less than 300 votes you should realize the importance onlly legal living voter being alowed to vote. this includes cleanibg voter registry to remove all iinstances of Mickey Mouse! A FREE state issued photo voter id is one reasonable non racist approach. ine important factor is it is FREE!

Probably wouldn't prevent it but it would make it harder
