Husband pushed me and I called the police. Will he get a felony on his record?

Postby boyce » Tue Jul 31, 2012 9:18 pm

We had a dissagreement, I pushed and he pushed me back hard. I fell to the floor and called police. They came and after telling what happened, they asked if I wanted to press charges. I said I didn't. All I wanted is to have a record filed. Next thing I knew he was taken away to prison. i called cops and said that I didn't want him to go to prison, and didn't file charges. I was told that by California law he is automatically charged with a felony and has to go to prison, with bail set. My family had to pay $10,000 to get him out of prison and now he has a court date set for felony. This is a nightmare. What can I do? I called the cops right away when they took him and said that I didn't want him to be taken, nor charged, but they said that there is nothig I can do. Now we have to spend money on a lawyer in hopes of avoiding the felony charges. He has a clean record. not even a driving ticket.
All I wanted is for him to know that physically pushing me is not ok. for police to tell him that. Now I and my family are being punished, and if my husband gets a felony, he will not be able to get a job in the future.
What can I do to stop this nightmare?

There's nothing you can do now. They have your statement to the police. They don't need you in court.

You don't have to "press charges." A crime was committed, and the police can arrest anyone who commits a crime. He deserves to go to prison.

PS - "All I wanted is for him to know that physically pushing me is not ok. for police to tell him that." You think he didn't already KNOW that???

You're an idiot . The purpose of calling the police is to have people arrested , not to act as your personal enforcers.

Yes , the state can and will charge him , He will be convicted based on your statement to the police .

He will lose his job and have a hard time finding another one now that he has a criminal record.

You can't do anything to stop it now . You really should have thought about this shyt before you called the cops .

I hope you like the idea of being divorced because I can't imagine him staying married to you after this.

There isn't anything you can do. The law is the law. I would like to think that your husband would be have already known not to put his hands on you, and that goes for you too.

Wow!

"All I wanted is for him to know that physically pushing me is not ok."

HYPOCRITICAL cankercvnt! What the hell gives YOU the idea that it's alright for YOU to push him? but for him to CONTROL the situation and get you to back the fv(k off? NOW HE'S THE CRIMINAL?????? You BACKWARD wired woman.

BECAUSE OF WOMEN LIKE YOU, I UNDERSTAND WHY THERE ARE DOMESTICS!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you wanna egg a man on, try to push him to a point of MEGA PISSED, and if you wanna hit and push and be a dam tw@T, a man ought to do something to get you to BACK THE F off.

You do realise that your tongue is like a SWORD, can pierce a person to the very fiber of their being and cause MAJOR HURT to your relationship by using mere words. . .I suggest you THINK about that for awhile and LAY OFF THE SOAP OPERA DRAMAS!

Yep, you thought you can play the system your way and now it is a pay off time. I don't know, hire a good attorney for the trial to stress that you didn't want to press charges. Don't mention anything about "just wanting a record filed". It sounds both stupid and pathetic.

Wow just wow...you really made a mess of this one girlie. It's a wonder he didn't leave the house and file for divorce. Now, he won't be able to get a good job because of both of your stupid actions. Now the state will take up the charges and file against him, they don't need you anymore. The damage is done. SMGDH!!!

don't worry, this is now on file ,just like you wanted it to be

why do women get upset when the plans they have do not work out?

on an other note, why was it ok for you to push him, but, not him to push you?

i hope he leaves you for this and then you won'y even need to worry about him getting or keeping a job
