Frankly, I think perhaps you give up too easily. You ask quite a few homework questions, and I'll bet if you stopped and thought about them for a while, or looked up some definitions at dictionary.com or somewhere like that, you could answer most of them yourself. There's no need to feel stupid; I see no reason to believe that you're stupid. But you definitely need to build more self-confidence, and the best way to do that is to try to work things out for yourself, and that means doing a little research before giving up and asking Y!A.

BTW, your earlier question about inequalities, the "best answer" was wrong on both of them, but I had no way to email you or answer the resolved question to point that out. Check the comments to that question for the correct answer.

You can figure out which to choose by the context of the question.

A poor education during childhood can AFFECT the rest of a person’s life.
improve
result
bring about
influence

A poor education during childhood can improve the rest of a person's life. -- No, it doesn't.
A poor education during childhoon can result the rest of a person's life. -- Doesn't make sense.
A poor education during childhood can bring about the rest of a person's life. -- Nope
A poor education during childhoon can influence the rest of a person's life. -- That makes sense and fits the context of the sentence.

2. Sleep DEPRIVATION can result in mood swings, diminished motor skills, and poor overall health.
loss
raids
increases
interruptions

What does deprivation mean? The root is deprive, and means to withhold something. People who don't have the advantages of education or loving parents or whatever, are deprived of those things. Which word makes sense now?

5. Select the word that best completes the sentence.
The most noticeable _______ of overeating is weight gain.
effect
affect
proceed
precede

This one is tricky because affect and effect are frequently confusing to people. It helps to remember that affect is usually a verb and effect is usually a noun. The other two words have nothing to do with the subject at all. Affect means influence while effect means outcome or result.

What I'd suggest is that you read each sentence out loud, and if you're unsure of what it means, look it up!
