I feel like I'm a Victim of guilt by association.?

Postby gobrwy » Thu Dec 15, 2011 4:17 pm

I work at Khol's ( barley) and had great decent hours and never got complaints from my employers ever ( actually have a huge stash of thank you's for going above and beyond what i was expected to do on the job from one of my managers.) was working double shifts extra hours coming in early you name it i took it without question. Well that was until my mother called to complain about a double billing she had purchased something at the wrong price and they audited it and was supposed to have credited it back. so she found out she had been double billed and the money never returned. So she called to complain she got no answers she called corporate they couldn't help so she called the bank. they said they would give it back if they didn't. well eventually the bank gave it back but then Khol's decided they would too so when asked for her name one of my managers gave her problems so she used my name as reference because i worked there and told her i was her son so she could get the last name right. well immediately after the incident she got the money back and the bank took theres back. well i knew from the start that manager didn't like me very well because i stood up for my rights as an American and a person ( long story) to her several times when asked to do dimeaning acts or IE being told i couldn't use the bathroom on their time i had to use it when i wasn't clocked in.

So not a week after the incident my hours went from 4-5 day's a week to none. and stayed that way for a month and a half before i got tired of it and called to get answers. I was then told that quote, " it's not that you don't work...or don't do your job; it's that we only like to give hours to our employees that want to work harder to go further in their career at Khol's and not just do their job for their paycheck." and I'm like really? i bust my **** all day for you and even more then I'm supposed to and you tell me it's not enough? not only that but that it's a crime to come to work and do the job you "ARE" paid for and go home. So here i sit trying to find another job and with no luck because of bad Reviews even though i have never been called to the office for any problems on the job or had any complaints from customers or other employees i can't get a job because my Employers tell the new jobs i'm trying to get into false " Records" of my behavior at work.

Getting to the point my question is I feel as though i'm being blacklisted because of something my mother did only as reference for a last name and not because oh i work there and she can get what she wants. I want to know if this is a law Violation or is there something I can do to make it stop?

What was your mom "guilty" of exactly? Getting her money back after they messed up?

.... ok 1 you should make it a little smaller 2 venting on some living person really helps when I have problems. 3 I would threaten for a law suite unjustly punishment, not that u actually would but managers would deffinetly do something 4 it's ok to be mad that your imployers stink but your mom didnt know better so I wouldn't blame her. but I hope it gets better soon if not apply for other jobs as a backup plan. tell us how it goes
