I got fired from my job on wednsday don't they have to pay me?

so I went to work for this company for two weeks and then got fired becuase of the ahole that was training me on day one he came to me and told me he didn't think I had any right to be at this company and continued to say bad things about me to the boss until I got fired. now yes I'm pissed about that but what ever the boss is a push over he lets this guy walk all over him like he owns the place. any way the point is on the 26th i was informed I would no longer be working there as far as i'm concerned I got let go the 25th he just didn't have the balls to tell me. but at like 9 in the morning on the 26th I got let go now nh labor law states the company has 72 hours to pay me excluding legal holidays and sundays. the 27th was turkey day so that leave the 26th,28, and 29th and they should of payed me I went into the company to talk to the guy doug and he called the HQ and they said the check would be mailed out tomorrow is there anything I can do should I call and ask if they can directly depsit it into an account can any one offer any advice the paycheck is coming from new jersey and wont get to me by friday at the earliest any help?

They should have told you before you showed up for work on the 26th, but perhaps they hadn't decided until that morning.

They fired you on the 26th. I doubt that the law states that it's 72 hours from the time you got fired. The 27th was a holiday, the 28th was 24 hours, the 29th was 48 hours, the 30th was Sunday, and yesterday was 72 hours. As long as they cut the check and mailed it that day, I think they're covered. It's not their fault that you can't come pick it up and it has to be mailed.

You can file a lawsuit for any reason, but if you have the money, the judge will probably have a few words for you about wasting his time.

They actually have withing 72 hours of your scheduled pay period to make the cheque available to you. It is also 3 business days. Mailing the check tommorow is right on track. You can ask for them to make it available at the office and pick it up if you want is sooner.

They only have to pay you for actual time worked. When you walked out the door, your salary ceased.

Regardless of labor laws, a lot of companies cut checks as scheduled. In other words, when they do payroll, they will pay then.
