I have an awesome idea i want to share with Google, how?

Postby rickie » Thu Jul 19, 2012 2:01 pm

Over the past couple months, iv been thinking up something that I'm positive can be Extremely innovative for Google, if they take me up on it. Its not necessarily a new invention, but its using several things and ideas that are fairly new, and utilizing them in a new manner. So i cant really patent it per say.

I just want to know whats the safest and best way to get this out there to the designers at Google, without getting ripped off, or have the idea stolen, god knows if i tell some guy named bob over the phone at Google, he can kindly hang up, and go make it.

thanks :)

Apply for a job in R&D (research and development) at Google.

Most major companies will not even listen to ideas or look at inventions created outside of their walls, because this leads to crippling lawsuits over copyrights, intellectual property rights, and of course profit distribution.

Chances are, what you have isn't worth what you think its worth. Your best chance is to actually have some knowledge of the industry or a degree and try and get a job or use connections. Otherwise, your dime-a-dozen idea will just have to stay where everybody else keeps theirs- in your head.
