It is excellent that you are thinking about business issues prior to you release a internet application into the wild.  But you might not want to do a lot of time-consuming and expensive legal and monetary perform prior to the launch.  For instance, if your revenue model is advertising and all your content material is self-generated and your internet home does not collect data about customers, why not wait to form an entity until you get some thought of the revenue and its sources? I know it appears strange but there is absolutely nothing illegal about just flipping the switch and seeing what takes place, so lengthy as you have correct policies and disclaimers in location.  AdSense and other marketing platforms can send you a type 1099 in your own name for their income.  And you can have them hold the revenue for awhile although you get your ducks in order. If you are collecting private data of any kind on the internet from your customers, it is critical for you to have a privacy policy in place and make your customers acknowledge it just before registering at a web site.  Then of course you have to make sure your infrastructure is compliant with the privacy notice, and that user information is protected from intrusion. Also a website delivering solutions to registered users ought to have terms of service, that spell out the contract with the customers and disclaim availability and many other very critical sources of prospective liability to the web site owner.  Also, if you are the portal for user-generated content material, you need to be ready to deal with the infringement or fraudulent content submitted by them. If you are promoting goods and solutions on the internet, I strongly advise you outsource the payment side of factors with a reputable source like Paypal.  Amazon has a new payments solution as well but I have no knowledge with it however. One particular last pointer, I usually advise folks not to kind corporations in December, they can typically wait till January and then they will not have to file 2007 returns and assessments.

You need a person, not material... Managing a business is usually a full-time job.  You can learn it by doing it(and make every mistake you can in the process) or you can rely on someone who's made those mistakes before and learned from experience.  You need someone who already knows which accountant to hire, which attorney to go to for advice(or, better yet, has received that advice before, so there's no need to get it again), which forms to file where, and how to work that QuickBooks thing... Nolo Press publishes good books along these lines. Nolo Press publishes very helpful books for people starting a new business.  They are filled with solid legal and tax advice.  I?ve selected a few examples that may be helpful.  That said, there?s no substitute for one-on-one legal advice from an attorney and one-on-one accounting and tax advice from a CPA. Good Luck!   rivercityattorney's Recommendations Working for Yourself: Law & Taxes for Independent Contractors, Freelancers & Consultants(6th Edition) Amazon List Price: $39.99 Used from: $22.84 Average Customer Rating: 5.0 out of 5(based on 12 reviews) Deduct It! Lower Your Small Business Taxes Amazon List Price: $34.99 Used from: $22.50 Average Customer Rating: 5.0 out of 5(based on 11 reviews) The Small Business Start-Up Kit Amazon List Price: $24.99 Used from: $13.00 Average Customer Rating: 5.0 out of 5(based on 2 reviews) rivercityattorney 73 months ago Please sign in to give a compliment. It might be too early to even worry about that. Also a website providing services to registered users ought to have terms of service, that spell out the contract with the users and disclaim availability and several other very important sources of potential liability to the website owner.  Also, if you are the portal for user-generated content, you need to be prepared to deal with the infringement or fraudulent content submitted by them. If you are selling goods and services online, I strongly recommend you outsource the payment side of things with a reputable source like Paypal.  Amazon has a new payments solution as well but I have no experience with it yet.
