in poor health; Like I had chronic fatigue syndrome or something. I have frequent headaches and I feel tired all the time. This yr it's gotten alot worse. I'll read something and right after, I can't remember what I've read. Sometimes I feel really disoriented. I can't catch my breathe sometimes. I've fallen down a few times at work and fainted twice. 3 weeks ago I had a nose bleed for the first time in my life. I have alot of other symptoms, but I'll not bore you with every detail...
Anyways a friend suggested that I get a heavy metal screen done. I got my results back and my mercury level is extremely high. I think I am being poisoned at work. I sometimes handle packages containing mercury and we had a mercury spill last yr, but I actually think it is the airplane exhaust. My doctor said to wear a hepafilter at work from now on at work and she suggested I find a new job. But what about all this time I have been ill? And what about the possible long term effects this will have on me?
I feel creepy for thinking about suing my employer, but it is exactly what I am thinking about. I went to an attorney and they said I have to file a workers compensation claim first. That scares me because I could lose my job
Should I just wear the filters and forget about it? I feel really angry right now because I have been a good employee for 10 yrs and they didn't keep me safe from this hazard and I might now be permanently injured from it.
What would you do?
