I Want Some Ideas On Some Garments To-Go With Red Patent Leather High-Heels (see Details) Any Suggestions?

Postby fyfe » Mon Dec 23, 2013 3:40 pm

I lately decided to make a bold(for me) record with the buy of some Stuart Weitzman red patent leather pumps. Far more regularly so I may possibly use them I've worn them as soon as with trousers but would like a couple of tips on colour combinations, accessories and garments. I've always utilized the greens, taupes, navys and so forth. so I'm just a tiny new at coordinating these sneakers. Each of you fashionistas out there...support!

Whoo-hoo! U GO Woman!!! Crimson may be the FRESH black!  You can wear those girls with virtually something nowadays!  I cannot wear pumps simply because of bunions at this time...but if it have been me:   Based on your level & knee kind, A brief black dress.  Defiantely with jeans...attempt a pleasant dim boot-reduce jean to assist intensify the shoe.    My suggestion is often to attempt to not fit the shoe for your outfit.  Many top celebrities can be viewed sporting these with melon colored cover dresses, beige colored floral dresses, and tossed on with jeans and a moving empire-waist prime.    OPPOSED to your organic Intuition of not carrying these collectively with your neutrals...these pups are created to be employed for entertaining & show!!! Red is the NEW black!  You can put on these beauties with just about something nowadays!  I can't put on heels due to bunions correct now...but if it had been me:   Based on your height & leg sort, A quick black dress.  Defiantely with jeans...attempt a nice dark boot cut jean to further accentuate the shoe.    My tip would be to try not to match the shoe to your outfit.  Many top celebrities can be seen wearing these with melon colored wrap dresses, beige colored floral dresses, and thrown on with jeans and a flowing empire waist best.    GO against your natural instinct of not wearing these with your neutrals...these puppies are meant to be worn for exciting & show!!!

If you want the red to do the talking, make sure the rest of your outfit isn't trying too hard to be heard.  For something a little glamorous try a white dress, or longer skirt with a shirt. Accesorize with a red necklace that matches the shade the shoes are.  Check out pictures of Marilyn Monroe for ideas on cuts of dresses and other things you could match up. And if you want to be a little more punk, look at Gwen Stefani.  Lately the trend has been skirts with funky cuts made out of non-traditional material, with printed knee or thigh-high tights and a funky shirt.  It's very loud, and wouldn't be all about the shoes, and from the sound of it isn't very you, but it's another idea. A shorter skirt might also work with the shoes, maybe in denim or black.  Make sure you go with a conservative top though, because red shoes an lots of legs can be misinterpereted when worn with a scant top. Also, when I have an article of clothing I need to plan an outfit around, I bring it to my favorite vintage clothing store and ask "what do you have that I can wear with this?" If the owner is personable and friendly(as many small business owners are), and knows a thing about fashion, they'll be able to find you something that no one else is wearing, but looks great on you! Avoid the thghts and a tunic look to go wtih your shoes, unless you're 5'3 and weigh less than 120lbs.  Most people just look darn silly like that. Hope some of these ideas work for you!

Red patent high heels sounds very fun!  If you have nice legs, I would stick with a dress/skirt.  That sets them off.  A nice pale color, yellow, ivory, even peach would be pretty.  Stick with classic, plain clothing, not embellishments--let the shoes sing!  Modest accessories like a shirt with some red flecks would look nice, but you could just accent the red with a bracelet or necklace. Don't try to match the red with something that stands out all over the outfit--(you don't have to see the other red bits coming AND going)  It is very hard to wear clothes with bold patterns, without drawing attention to figure flaws.  Plain colors and smooth lines are more forgiving. Black and navy are also possibilities, but  it is harder to do because bright shoes with dark clothes can look off-kilter.  Also, no dark stockings or matching red tights, stick with nude hose.

Personally, I think when you wear a statement shoe like red patent leather heels you don't have to worry about what it goes with because it goes with a little bit of everything. You could pair the shoes with a simple black dress. Everyone will be looking at your shoes. Nautical is a big trend this season and I think that red patent leather would look great with that. Try a black and white or blue and white stripe nautcial style shirt with jeans. Or try the red shoes with jeans or pants and a cami and blazer. I could definitely see red shoes with bright yellow or blue and definitely with black, tan, and navy. You could match the shoes to anything with red detailing, like a cami or even a pin on a blazer. However, you could also throw the red shoes with something you would normally wear navy or black shoes with. I think when you are wearing red patent leather heels people should know about it. The old fashion cliche regarding accessorizing is get dressed and then take one thing off. When you wear black heels with a black dress or black blazer they are not an accessory, but when you wear red heels with one of these outfits then the shoes are an accessory so you don't want to go over board with other accessories. Maybe some simple chandelier earrings or a great bangle bracelet.

It's best to use them as a color "pop" rather than matching an outfit. A black or navy outfit with the red shoes and perhaps a red scarf; or a taupe or black suit with a blouse that has a small print with black and red, with the red shoes; jeans, jean jacket, white Tee with a short red scarf at your neck; tan suit, tan and red print blouse, etc.  The trick is not to have too much red, so the shoes are a focal point.  There is nothing worse than wearing an all-red outfit, including shoes, purse, etc.  Too much for this color!  Good luck!
