I care for my Mother as a caregiver.
I really like helping and want to start a caregiving business.
My Mother having me as her caregiver got me thinking when she applied for an employers ID.
I want to start a caregivers business and have a handful of workers for me.
I have seen caregivers operate their businesses.
When someone calls the caregiving company, the owner then calls a worker and tells the worker the address where help is needed.
These workers appear to be employees of the owner of the caregiving business.
My question is:
What kind of credentials are needed to operate a caregiving business? What type of insurance/bond would I need to cover my workers and my business?
What credentials would the workers need? I have seen my Mother hire workers before who did not know CPR and the workers could not give medications etc... The workers basically cooked and cleaned and kept company and walked when my Dad needed help.
We only hired the workers a few times when I hurt my back, the other 10+ years I took care of him.
As I took care of my Father and didn't receive any compensation and now I take care of my Mom, a business like this would not only be a lifesaver for people who need help/company but a lifesaver to help me pay my bills. (I had cancer and several operations and have bills now)
Thank you!
