Ideal undergraduate degree for Law School?

I know any degree is great for Law School but I want something that can give me an advantage in writing, speaking, thinking, etc. I want to become a criminal defense lawyer but if that doesn't come true, I want to become a writer + continue University. So here are my choice and I want something that can help me accomplish both goals:
1. English
2. Philosophy
3. History
4. Poly Sci

Should I just get a double degree in English and Philosophy?

The best Major for Law School candidates might be a "Great Books of the Western Intellectual Tradition" curriculum (often just called "Great Books")

Three good colleges with this degree program in some form are:

St. John's College (Maryland and New Mexico)
University of Chicago
Hillsdale College

Any of those majors will serve you well, so if you're interested in English and Philosophy, go for it! Just make sure to keep your GPA high. Those two also seem to align with your non-law related interests, so it seems like a perfect match.

I you have the ambition for Philosophy and English, than definitely do that. But if not, than I'd suggest Philosophy.
