If I get a speeding ticket in another state with 3 points, will those points transfer to my drivng record?

I have a Washington State drivers license. Will I get points on my record if I got a speeding ticket in NY State? 14 mph over the limit.

Yes you will get points, anytime it is an out of state infraction the agency issuing the citation is to notify the DMV of the state you reside in.

You will receive the same number of points on your license as if the ticket happened in Washington. For example if it is a 3 point ticket in NY but a 5 point ticket in WA, you will have 5 points on your license.

Note: I don't know the actual points for 14 over in WA, 5 points was only used to illustrate my point.
