When anyone is charged with a criminal charge, they usually get 15 days to pay for the court fees & fines unless you ask for more time (which usually they'll throw a few more bucks on there). I'm asking this bc apparently my payment didn't go through bc I payed after 3:30pm on a Friday. The payment was also not posted to my card as well.

This ticket is for Loudoun County, VA
I've tried looking it up online & also tried searching for questions like this on the VA Court System website, but I couldn't find an answer.
Please help! Thanks :)

OK, just let me clarify, you got the ticket and you paid it online?

Because it got made after 330, it won't process or show on their site until Monday?

Is the court date Monday?

If I the answers to all those are 'yes', then if you choose to go to court Monday, take a printout of the online payment you made, everything will be just fine. Nothing to worry about.

It's up to the judge. Be polite and respectful. Most judges will work something out if you need a little extra time to pay on a ticket. Asking for 15 days is absolutely not unreasonable. Explain the situation to the judge. Don't be surprised if the judge asks you to make a partial payment or sets you up on a payment plan. If you have any documentation regarding payment take it with you to court.

Believe it or not you may not even need to go into court. You can call the courthouse first explain your situation and they may be able to handle it by phone. Generally, you will talk to a clerk in the courthouse who will take your information. They know what judges will and will not do. The clerk will get off the phone and take your agreement over to the judge to sign off on it. Usually, they will call you back or have you call back two or three hours later to make sure the judge approved what the two of you negotiated. Courts are pretty reasonable if you communicate with them and truly work to resolve the situation in a timely manner. Remember your area courthouse deals with thousands of cases per month. If they can quickly resolve a situation that is what they want to do.
