I am a little upset because I worked 5pm-5am and the next morning at 9am were scheduled a mandatory meeting. I didn't attend obviously and was written up. Is there any labor laws for this?? I live in ohio. any advice would be much appreciated!!

If you are a truck driver or an airline pilot, there are mandatory rest rules. The rest of us are free to contract and can agree to work 24/7 if we wish.

That was unreasonable.

At Frito Lay, I used to get really pissed when I had to work four hours overtime after my regular shift on one day and then they force me in four hours early for the next day.

That only gave me 8 hours off. That was not even enough time to sleep.

So I told them to stick it.

He or she did mention the state fool -- Ohio.

Because in your question you did not mention a specific state I am unable to answer your question but would advise you to suck it up in order to keep your job.

8.hrs is all they need to give you off, but there is the question of over time pay, what does your contract say? and look what are state laws are upon that question.
