On OS X, yes. Between the Sharing and Network preference panes, you can set this up. Set your Mac to connect to the internet via Airport. Then go to Sharing and turn on Internet Sharing, passing the internet connection from the wireless to the ethernet port, and you're good to go. Devices connected to the "bridge computer" via Ethernet will get a 10.0.x.x address, and won't have an external IP, because the simple Internet Sharing doesn't do much in the way of routing. I know the network cards on Macs now don't need crossover cables; they just figure it out. I think this is true of most ethernet cards. I know I've seen this done with a Windows XP laptop, but I don't know the specific Control Panel to use. UltraNurd 100 months ago Please sign in to give a compliment.
