Immigration Laws to Canada?!?

What are the laws, and what must you do before you move to Canada & become a Canadian citizen?
My brother's girlfriend lives in Newton, Mississippi and is moving up here next year. ALSO, what is required to be done with her 2 year old son? They are both American. She says there is a long list of stuff you have to do in order for her and her son to become a Canadian citizen.

Please tell me !!

P.S.- I'm thirteen, I have no idea of these laws. I'm not into political action!

Yeah there are lots of things to be done. You will be entering to canada from the US so there is a separate thing for that. You need to get visa first but in some cases you dont need. So pls go to the canadian immigration website and get all the info.

unless your brother marries her the only way she can move to Canada is if she is a skilled worker in an occupation Canada needs

no government is going to change the laws just for you

is your brother a canadian citizen? if yes then he has to MARRY the girlfriend in order for the g/f and the son to get to Canada. if your broher is the father of the boy then the boy is automatically a canadian citizen (and must be reigasitered as such) but a paternity blood test will be required as proof. The boy will then be a dual american & canadian citizen.

the mother has to marry her canadian boyfriend if she wants to move to Canada - assume she has no education past high school she will have no chance of immigrating as a skilled worker unless she has a degree and a job that is in demand.

Yes there is a long list of stuff you have to do. You can find most, if not all answers of the internet.
They certainly must make sure that everything is done 100% correctly..
