In VA can you request your parents not be present for a speeding ticket?

My parents already know about it but at court could I request they not be in the court? I think that I be do better in court if I didn't have the extra pressure.

You can request anything you want, but they don't have to abide by it.

Court proceedings are public; anyone can attend them.

No you can't. Either they are required by law to be in court with you, or there is no NEED to make the request. If they don't HAVE to be there, they can simply not be there. If you think you will do better in court without your parents present, try to pay the fine without going to court. Going to court won't help you at all.
