Informal hearing speeding ticket?

Postby torran » Sat Apr 14, 2012 11:31 am

Extra fees when fighting speeding ticket in informal trial?
I was given a ticket for 1-5 miles over the limit when the officer says I was going about 20 over. I do not recall where he was or when I was "clocked". should I just pay the reduced fee or request an informal hearing?
Will extra charges be added at the informal hearing?
(As a side note my 2 year old daughter was ill with a high fever of about 103.5 and I was on my way to. Pick her up from the sitters).
My daughter was not in the car with me at the time i was pulled over. I live in the state of Michigan. My daughter was at the ER 2 days prior to the ticket for the fever and her temp was spiking again. I had to pick her up and give her some medication for the fever. She needed mom's comfort.

Always a chance the officer doesn't show...?
and I have never had points on my record before and I my last ticket was at least 5 years ago.
