when our future landlord showed us the house we are now renting the tenants who were renting the house before us had just fogged the house for insects, but we figured in louisiana this was normal thing in louiaina.there was no signs of any insects and house was very clean so we rented house we signed the lease which said it was a four bedroom house it ended up being 3 bedrooms and a renovated garage. so our son started to move boxes to the house and we rented a truck on saturday. as we were unpacking which took a while because my husband and i are disabled. when opening the cupboards we saw roach traps. we didnt open cabinets before because previous tenants where still living in the house didnt want to invade their privacy. when we went to put things in kitchen and bath closets we saw roach traps in every cabinet. we spoke with landloard on the 5th of july we moved in on the 3rd. the landloard told my husband to try to treat on our own then if not work she would clall someone . we have sprayed every week but the german roaches never cease even their babies are all over. we sent her a list of concerns she came and let herself in the house then said knock knock, she had attitude being mean and uglyshe refuses to accept the fact tha the a/c is not large enough fpr the house so it runs non stop.she argued this and told us the digital thermostats run diferent that if we wanted the temp to be 75 then put it on 70 which she must think we are stupid. and then told us the oher teants never said anything about roaches and she has never seen german roaches in slidell la. then said if we want she would give us a phone number of an exterminator if we would liked. we wanted but when first told her she said for us to try to take care of us and if couldnt get rid of them she would call someone. so are we obligated to pay for exterminator or is she?we have another problem our 20 yr old son was cutting the gass with blade facing away from house.but a rock still came from the other side and broke the sliding glass door just one side. but landloard acted like their wasnt any insurance on the house.so she told us she would pay half of the door we had to replace. we found a door for $400 the landloard sain sounded flimsy so told us to get a glass door with blinds with blinds in the glass, welll this one cost almost $800 and she said one of her handymen would install it, she told my husband said she said half on everything but when her worker put door in he told us we owed him $280. the landlord told my husband we could have had the door installed from home depot, for $300 from them she said well im saving you $20 . i just dont understand why we had to pay that much for door when sure she has insurance so ,does the law say we have to pay for the door?
