picked on and bullied.  There generally is no political or religious motivation in the actions, just revenge for perceived injustices.  The act is not to cause terror, but is a criminal act to extract vengence(which you could say about the 911 acts too).

Is A School Shooting Considered An Act Of Terrorism?

Terrorism... 1. the use of violence and threats to intimidate or coerce, esp. for political purposes. 2. the state of fear and submission produced by terrorism or terrorization. 3. a terroristic method of governing or of resisting a government.     So acording with definition # 2 you are right. We usually think about bombs and middle eaterns when we hear "Terrorism" but that is practically everything that causes "Terror" so every shoothing should be considered an act of terrorism. Is A School Shooting Considered An Act Of Terrorism?

Postby Scanlan » Fri Feb 07, 2014 1:10 pm

any act that causes fear it's an act of terrorism.   Fort Hood, Columbine, serial murders & rapists lurking in neighborhoods etc.  I?m so glad that Virgina/Maryland shooter terrorist from 2002 met his fate this week.  Dead!  Executed!  Why did it take so long?   Anything that takes away your peace of mind, prevents you from sleeping and unsettles your stomach is an act of terrorism.   A person intimidating, being cruel, threatening towards a child, an animal, another person..................  how much definition do we need?   Monday news.... Woman in Long Island, mother of seven, kidnapped, torture and killed pets from the neighbors.  I watched in horror as the story unfolded... 20 animals buried in her backyard was the first count.  Police carried dark plastic bags with carcasses.  Her 17 year old son reported her.  He said they felt that the house was a concentration camp.  Many cages filled with animals awaiting their fate were found in the house.   Where the kids going to be next? I wonder how many other animals suffered in the hands of this poor excuse for a human being before her son stepped up.  Why did he not do it before?  It?s always too little, too late!  I could not sleep that night, in tears and stressed for the poor things that suffered, died and had no voice.  I considered myself under attack this week!   Last year, central NJ house foreclosed by the Bank evicted the couple living in the house.  Just shut down the place never checking that 40 animals were int the house caged.  Puppy Mill.  No one bothered to go check until three months later.  I was under attack by these terrorist acts then, too.   I spend my hours writing to senators and animal rescue groups.  Where were you PETA?  Humane Society?  ASPCA?  All my donations............. where are they being used?  Paying high executive salaries?   We, neighbors, family and friends need to take responsibility now.  It's in our hands to report these lunatics that go under the radar being terrorist, getting away with horrific acts.  Needs to start at home and in the schools.  Middle schools as they expose the children to diversity and tolerance.  What about adding... Kids, if you have someone in your family being real mean and strange to people and animals, they might be sick..... just tell at the school.  Report it so they can be helped.   The school shootings............. the parents of the shooters must have known they had a "loonie bin case" at home.  They decided to turn their attention to something less disturbing.  Does not go away if ignored. That's why they make the parents responsible for their children so they keep an eye on them!  If the shooters are adults........... shame on the people that did not report them. They all have a scary background.

Is A School Shooting Considered An Act Of Terrorism?

I would not consider it so. Generally, the kids who resort to these actions are loners and people who have been picked on and bullied.  There generally is no political or religious motivation in the actions, just revenge for perceived injustices.  The act is not to cause terror, but is a criminal act to extract vengence(which you could say about the 911 acts too).   Schelli's Recommendations Terrorism and Homeland Security: An Introduction Amazon List Price: $87.95 Used from: $42.00 Average Customer Rating: 4.5 out of 5(based on 19 reviews) The History of Terrorism: From Antiquity to al Qaeda Amazon List Price: $27.95 Used from: $11.74 Average Customer Rating: 4.5 out of 5(based on 3 reviews) The Mind of the Terrorist: The Psychology of Terrorism from the IRA to al-Qaeda Amazon List Price: $26.00 Used from: $24.48 Average Customer Rating: 4.0 out of 5(based on 5 reviews) Schelli 50 months ago Please sign in to give a compliment.
