Is Anyone Receiving Unauthorized Third Party Charges On Their Cingular Cell Phone Bill?

Postby Laec » Mon Feb 24, 2014 5:15 pm

I've cancelled Voice Mail, text messaging, etc., and was told by Cingular that these features were from a previous customer. Yet, the charges continue to appear on my monthly statements. So far, they have overcharged me over $150.00 this year. Their customer service reps claim they can't stop the third party from charging me. If there are enough of you out there experiencing this, don't you think it's time for a class action lawsuit to stop these unauthorized charges from appearing on our cell phone bills?

Completely. I'm currently working as a care rep for Sprint/Nextel on the Nextel side. Really, there's not a lot that can be done, as the third party charges, right now, have to be handled through the third party. Billing to the phone company should be ILLEGAL, though. How easy would it be to just require all cell-phone third party deals to go through the individual, separate from normal services? Pretty darned easy, actually. The government needs to step up and help us out, or the big names need to pull together to fight third party crap. And always remember, changing your telephone number is a 5 minute process, at most.(and probably free, is with nextel). newbie2578179, regarding your answer "Completely.":There is no guarantee, however, that the "new" phone number won't have "baggage" attached to it from the previous owner, either. Thanks for the response.
