Is it just to imprison a person "suspected" of being an illegal alien?

Postby broehain61 » Fri Apr 01, 2011 11:32 am

I'm a Hispanic-American born in the United States. I live in Florida and Florida's new governor, Rick Scott, wants to bring Arizona's immigration law to Florida. That would criminalize illegal immigration and it would force police to check the citizenship status of people suspected of being illegal aliens.

If I were to forget my wallet one day while driving my car, would it be just for a cop to lock me up while he verifies I'm an American citizen or should I simply be ticketed for driving without my license?

The officer could run a check on your name and date of birth and your driver's license photo would appear on the screen. Police already do have the legal authority to arrest a person for driving without a license even if the person holds a valid license but is not in possession of it while operating a vehicle. That's called "racism." Popular idea for quite a while now. In the case of criminals who might flee the country, arrests based upon suspicion are important. In the case of illegal immigrants who obviously aren't going anywhere, apprehending them based on suspicion of illegal immigration is not only illogical but completely unwarranted.

Hey why don't you stop. These people are a cancer on our society. All a question like that does is put doubt in the minds of liberal politicians. It is true some Americans will be affected. That happens during a time of change. As they say there is no I in team. When you and other latin American citizens stood up with the illegals you took sides. Choose the American side this time( the colorless legal side)!

A florida cop can take you name and DOB and get you license details with photo and details up on his computer screen .. you would get a ticket for not carrying your license ... last time I got one it was $8 ....of course if the details dont match ..problem

so no... you would not get locked up

Well this is already a national law. Being just I would say no. You should not be hindered because other people that look similar to you have a reputation for being illegal.
