Is it possible for police to pull you over for speeding then give you a vision obstruction?

Postby fitche » Mon May 21, 2012 7:48 pm

I was pulled over on May 19, 2012 for speeding. The officer comes over to me and tells me i was going 44mph on a 35mph road. Later another police officer arrives and he talks to the police officer who originally pulled me over through the passenger side of his cruiser they take about 15 to 20 minutes and when they come back, they gives me tickets for windshield vision obstruction and for having more passengers than i am allowed( my sister and a friend) I live in New Jersey can i fight this?

Ask yourself THIS question; if the Police come onto your property and walk around to the back of your house because they smell "pot" (which gave them "probable cause" to investigate possible drug use) and notice a dead body when they get to the back yard, can they investigate the dead body?

If you do not want Speeding tickets, there are large numbers posted on poles along the side of the road that tell you what the limit is...if you drive at that speed or less, you won't get pulled for speeding, so they won't catch you on all the other laws you do not think apply to you.

Ahhh, wicked is absolutely correct. The Officer had every right to cite you for the vision obstruction and carrying too many passengers after he legally pulled you over for the speed violation. as far as fighting it, you can always fight a ticket. Is there a valid reason for you to fight it? Did the Officer make up all the citations that he gave you? I'd say probably not.

I knew it was Jersey! Man they are still enforcing the no hanging stuff off the rear view.
You are so young. Of course you can be pulled over for say running a light and then get cited / tickets for also not having a seat belt on, not have insurance papers, and when they find a restricted driver who is too young to have passengers with out an Adult in the car, etc.
