Is Macau, welcoming towards European immigrants?

Postby reid » Wed Jun 27, 2012 2:31 pm

Hello there.

I'm from Europe, Portugal to be precise, and I was wondering if Macau accepts immigrants from Europe.

Macau as a former colony is becoming practically Chinese, due to the max influx of Chinese immigration, from the mainland to the insular area. Thus, the elimination of the remaining Portuguese patrimonial fragments.

I was wondering if the Macanese of today are welcoming towards Westerners?
I really want to move to Asia, but it seems that Macau is decided to transform itself in some sort of "Asian Las Vegas".

- Are the immigration laws soft brand on the Portuguese, under any international ties or treaties?
- Can I as non-Cantonese/Mandarin speaker get a job in Macau?
(I was thinking in enrolling in the touristic sector of Macau, as I'm able to speak English, Portuguese, Spanish, Italian, French and Deutsche)

I don't know what to ask, I think there's something missing.
Please feedback in any way you think it might help.

Thanks.

Yes, You are always welcome in Macau. After Macau's returning to the People's Republic of China, it's rather open to foreign visitors from all over the world. I advise you to visit it firstly, and then you'll believe what I said to you.
