As you have probably learned, it's almost impossible to find an attorney to take a medical malpractice case - except when it is completely CUT & DRY. The lawyers believe in karma too. Even when it's cut & dry it's something to worry about forever....
Example: I have a friend who developed a immediately after giving birth developed blood clot in her leg that moved into pulmonary embolism. She went to the ER when it was still in her leg and they said basically it's nothing... she almost died, but tried until the statute of limitations experience to find a lawyer to take it = never could and she is an executive who has many contacts.
Another example: my neighbors mom was in the hospital for something minor and was given the wrong medication and she had a stroke. She lived for 3 more years and needed 24/7 care after that. They sued the hospital and won. OK, all well, right? wrong - they tried to avoid that hospital afterwards except her mom was taken there by ambulance for her "last" trip. My neighbor felt/feels that there was a big "THIS WOMEN SUED US" flashing on the computer and they didn't as extensive treatment as they might have otherwise.
