Is There A More Intuitive Explanation Of Benford's Law Than Scale Invariance.

Is There A More Intuitive Explanation Of Benford's Law Than Scale Invariance.

I've read the Wikipedia and Wolfram articles and "Looking Out for Number One". I understand that scale invariance entails the law(although I don't understand why the solution to xP(x) = -P(x) is 1/k = P(x)).The law still seems very mysterious. I've considered a couple of explanations that I've explain in more detail in the extra information section.
