It's called the age of consent, and in most states the age is 18. However, in some states it's 17 or even 16.

However, there is no age requirement to buy condoms.

So long as the partner is a minor as well, you should be fine. 18 years old and older having sex with a minor is sexual assault, if I'm not mistaken.

Not in this country. In other countries yes but those are usually the sucky countries anyway. here, its a bit more complicated.

The average age of consent in the US is 17. Each state decides on its own, but all of them are either 16, 17 or 18.

There's also a law that helps avoid a certain amount of stupidity. Like if you were 16, your boyfriend 17, you could have sex. But the moment he turns 18, it becomes illegal. So generally, once someoen reaches the age of consent, they can still have sex with minors, but only minors who are within 2 or 3 years of them. so if we assume 2, an 18 year old could have sex with a 16 year old, but not a 15 year old.

The exact law however varies from state to state.

Realistically, if its between 2 consensual people then there is nothing wrong with it.
