Isn't divorce worst than gay marriage in it ruining the sanctuary of marriage? Opinion on same-sex marriage?

where does it say in the bible that adam and eve were married?i believe in god and have read the bible but i don't ever recall reading that.why can't same sex couples get married?what makes their union less loving than that of one between a man and a woman?the rules about homosexuality comes from the whole procreation thing.go forth and fill the earth and that sorta thing.just like sex is always said to be the original sin. read the bible it wasn't the first sin. disobeying god was.read into the bible what you like but the whole love is only for the straight goes against everything in the new testament about love and forgiveness

Of course same-sex couples should be allowed to marry. It should never have gone to a vote: basic human freedoms are not democratic issues, they are rights.
It is irrelevant what anyone's religion says about it, because not everyone follows that religion and in the same way. Why should marriage be regulated on the terms of the religious majority? How is it any different from, for example, only allowing Christian marriages?
It frustrates me how ignorant and short-sighted people can be.

From a Biblical standpoint, I feel that yes, divorce is a sin. Homosexuality is also a sin. Neither is more wrong than the other - they're just that..."A sin."

In my personal opinion, people should have the right to choose to sin if they want. All people answer to God for He is the only one who can judge an individual.

You seem to be very intelligent, which is obviously a good thing.

What is your opinion on same-sex marriage?
* I couldn't care less if gays marry. It does me absolutely no injustice.
I would vote against prop 8.

Should gay people even be allowed equal treatment under the law under civil unions?
*of course! Anything else is pure and simple discrimination that tries to justify itself with religion.

If yes, have we learned anything from the idea of “separate but equal”?
*Yes. Separate but equal is a myth. If they were truly equal, then they wouldn't be separate.

Leviticus, huh? Wasn't he the same guy that said eating shellfish was a sin against god too?

Even Rick Warren admits that divorce is a much bigger problem to society than same-sex marriage, but he'd rather attack a problem that leaves himself and his followers blameless than ask them to consider the sanctity of their own marriages first.

Without reading your entire post, I will address the simple question in bold. Just because marriage is difficult and many find themselves in divorce does not mean that it is worse or better than the another bad decision of homosexuality.

Everyone makes choices for which they will be held accountable, it doesn't make another's choices justified or mute simply because there are challenges from both ends. The fact is, gender is an essential characteristic of individual identity and purpose and the family is ordained of God. Marriage between man and woman is essential to His eternal plan. Argue it anyway you please, it will not outweight those truths.

Two gay people who love each other very much should have the right to get married than two straight people who hate each other and are gonna get divorced a year later.
Besides, people are people and should be able to do what makes them happy. Life's short anyways.
So my opinion is that they should have every right to get married. And for the homophobes who don't like my opinion, "Screw you!"

Holy matrimony is based upon the Bible. Jesus and the Bible say gays are sinners who deserve to be thrown into a fire pit for eternity. I didn't write it. Just passing it on.
