Isn't it amazing that the Arizona law is showing good results already, and it hasn't even taken effect yet?

I wonder how many other states will follow Arizona's lead if this continues to work for them so well?

excerpt...
Juan Carlos Cruz, an illegal immigrant who has worked in plant nurseries for 20 years, huddled with dozens of relatives over the Memorial Day Weekend in the backyard of his brother's Phoenix-area home to plot out the family's next move to avoid what they say will be harassment by police. Virginia and California are the front-runners.

"If I were alone, I'd try to stay. But I have a family, and I have to find a place where we can live with more freedom," said Cruz, who hopes to move July 4 to blend in with holiday weekend traffic. "This is getting too hard."

Paul Senseman, a spokesman for Brewer, said it's difficult to gauge how many people are leaving because of the law, but he said he hears similar reports of people leaving the state.

"If that means that fewer people are breaking the law, that is absolutely an accomplishment," he said.

Damn right. Northern Virginia is in a state of "immigration emergency." I'll be glad that some of them leave. All of the crime here is committed by them, it seems like. Of course, that is an overgeneralization but... every police brief you read, every picture shown on the news, all the wanted posters up in stores; all Hispanic people. It was REALLY bad about 3 or 4 years ago but Prince William Co. organized a group to get them out of there and makew laws tougher and a lot of them left. The ones who stay are fine with me because if they stay, they have nothing to hide. That generally means they are not criminals.

Yes...outstanding...btw several Florida legislatures are introducing a similar bill next session and the likely hood of it passing is great here in the republican controlled congress...btw the front runner for Gov. is also a proponent of illegal immigrate enforcement

Its not showing that great of results yet as its not detering illegals. It may be getting a few to leave the state but they will simply change states. In the end more states need to inact similiar laws or even harsher laws before to many spread north.Maybe leave California as the state w/o the law and drive them all their. Few tons of dynamite then and we can sink california into the ocean.

Are you saying that enforcing or threatening to enforce a law has some kind of deterrent value, and may cause a criminal to relocate to a more hospitable environment that is tolerant to criminal activities? I heard San Francisco , Los Angeles, and Bakersfield would like to have more. If the Federal law that Arizona is attempting to enforce was enforces nation wide this would be better.

What a concept.

This can't be dealt with on a state-by-state basis. The politicians in Washington need to stop sucking up to Hispanics for their votes and start enforcing the immigration laws that are already in place to ship these people back to Tijuana.

somehow liberals just dont seem to get it. the arizona laws are ALREADY ON THE BOOKS AS FEDERAL LAW. the only thing it does is give the state the power to enable them. as such the answer is no its not amazing, just common sense.

The point of the AZ law to me is to force the feds to do something. If illegals leave arizona for other states then other states will start drafting up similar laws and the feds will have to do something. and thats what will happen.

I can answer that: It's good for Arizona, but the illegals are moving to another state illegally. Not so good for the states getting the new influx of illegals.

Good news but not really surprising. Texas needs to create similar laws before we are inundated with illegal aliens leaving Arizona.
