Ladies. Would you take an out of country vacation while pregnant?

Postby seme22 » Thu Apr 12, 2012 7:36 am

A newborn in Argentina was found very much alive in a morgue by her mother 12 hours after hospital staff had declared the baby dead.

The mother, Analia Bouguet, tells TeleNoticias TV that the hospital still has issued her only a death certificate for the infant rather than a birth certificate. Bouguet said she is planning to pursue a medical malpractice suit.

The Daily Mail reports that the baby was Bouguet's fifth and was born prematurely.

Two hours after being issue a death certificate, Bouguet and her husband visited the morgue because they wanted to see their child one more time.

"The baby was there and they put the little casket on a stretcher. We looked for a bar to pry it open," the baby's father, Fabian Veron, said in a press conference. "My wife looked and uncovered it slowly. She saw the little hand and then uncovered the face. That's when it let the first little cry out."

"That night, we went to the morgue. We wanted to take a photo of our daughter," Bouguet told Argentina's Clarin newspaper. "But when a worker opened the drawer, we heard a cry and she was alive."

Strange how you would spin this story to scare pregnant women going abroad. Would anyone risk holidaying in the US after hearing this story? http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,433830,00.html

EDIT: I knew it! Only a dog could walk away from the fence on the grassy knoll without arousing suspicion...why didn't the FBI take me seriously?!?

Good grief no. I would not go anywhere like that. Makes you wonder too if it wasn't some baby smuggling ring or very, very incompetent medical staff.

Big IF, but no I don't think so unless it was something urgent.

There was a couple in Australia who had a baby, he was one of twins & born prematurely stillborn, the mother wouldn't give up on that baby and held him and stroked it for hours, both parents telling the baby how much they loved him. He started moving a little, the doctor refused to believe he was alive and told them it was a death reflex, but they continued on and eventually the baby started breathing normally. Now the parents say that due to the delayed treatment by the doctor the baby may have brain damage and they won't know till he's a year old.
