Lawsuit Advance help?

Postby bronsin » Sat Jul 07, 2012 7:18 am

I called my lawyer 3 days ago for a lawsuit advance. His secretary took my message and said he would call. I haven't heard from him since. I understand Im not his only client, but come on! I asked for a advance due to my hand being broken when I was hit by a drunk driver. The secretary said my lawsuit is still pending due to my hospital records which it's been a month since she requested them. Ive finihed my therapy 2 months ago, I'm so behind on bills and I'm about to loose my house because I lost my job when my hand was broken and I couldn't work for 4 months cause I was in a cast. Is it too late to obtain a new lawyer? And has anyone went with a company who does advanced on personal injury?

It’s not entirely clear in what stage your lawsuit is in, but you probably could get another attorney. The problem is that lawyers cannot normally talk to a client who is represented which makes switching tough. I will say 3 days is hardly a record for have to wait for a lawyer to call back. Also is the lawyer providing the advance himself? That is odd, normally that is done via a financing company.

Generally, the problem is that the lawyers who represented a client that makes it hard to speak or not to change. 3 days, I hardly can wait for the record of an attorney would call back.
