No, it may actually mean the opposite. The present shortage of nurses dictates that the available nurse work force must work longer hours and overtime. Tired workers make more mistakes than well rested ones. With a larger workforce, it follows that they won't be overworked and overly tired translating into fewer mistakes being made.No, I do not think so at all. Personally, I think it would be the opposite. Lots of malpractice mistakes happen because of staffing shortages and overworking the current staff. And just because there are more people majoring in nursing doesn't necessarily mean that there are enough jobs to cover them all.
