My ex blocked my email and rerouted his email after a fight. He made a threat & need to know what's up?

We were emailing, got in a fight. Without me knowing he got corp. security involved (he was using his work email) and the emailed me to tell me he did this three months ago. He said something about a legal route and libeled and defamed me. There is no basis for a PPO but I do want to know where things are at. Is he pursuing other avenues? Do I have to get a lawyer? I don't understand this behavior on his end since we were mutually emailing for months a then he doesn't like an email exchange we have and turns me over to IT and Legal?

My family needs to know if he is pursuing this but there is no way to email one last time and ask him what his goal is. They rerouted his email and he only receives email from his address book and inter-office.

I know I should just let this go but I just want to know what is going on and if I need to worry. We've been friends post relationship for 15 years and I would have never thought he'd do this to me.

Is there a way to get this info from him? The only way I can think of is via email. I don't want to write or do anything that would give him ammo for a PPO even though that would be totally ridiculous for him to do. He can email/threaten me yet I can't reply? How is that fair? My family is stressed not knowing what to do so I ask the computer gurus. How can I email him a quick "where are things at and are you pursuing any other action". In the end I can sue for punitive damages but I don't want this to become worse than it is. He over-reacted and I don't want to do the same.

Can I bypass IT security and his address book so he I can find out vital info from him. I can close that chapter of my life then.

The very best thing to do is to break off all contact with your ex.

That is the only prudent thing to do.

If you have allegations to make against your ex or want to know what litigious actions he may take against you, you should first hire a lawyer and let that lawyer handle all communications between you and your ex.

And, of course, you may want to remove this question from Yahoo! Answers. Everything is ammunition in these situations -- including airing "dirty laundry" on a global forum like Yahoo! Answers.
