My friend in New York state was just sentenced under the Rockefeller Drug Laws to 25 to life for possessing?

4 ounces of cocaine.

So basically all she did was have 4 ounces of cocaine in her pocket and the police caught her last year and she was just sentenced 2 days ago accordingly to the rockefeller drug laws to 25 to life.

Is this too harsh? How can I help her?
