While most homeowner's insurance will cover this under your medical expense, there becomes a grey area when you say "she slept on the garage floor". Had you said "She slipped on the garage floor, hit her head, and had to be rushed to emergency" a claims officer would have no problems with that. If she was sleeping and hurt herself they may not cover this. It is best to contact your insurance carrier to see what their underwriting guidelines are for claims. Be aware also, if you are carrying only 500 to 1000 dollars in medical then that is what you will get. Each insurance carrier has its' unique set of claims stipulations, but most all follow the same guidelines. Dana_L 75 months ago Please sign in to give a compliment.
