Yes Your homeowners policy ought to cover your mother inside the limits of your policy. Nonetheless, if the injury is comparatively minor you may possibly be further ahead to pay out of pocket as your rates may enhance soon after the claim. If the injury, nonetheless, will need much more in depth care then certainly file your claim as soon as you can. If you wait to long you could not be capable to file. ronin 75 months ago Please sign in to give a compliment. Please confirm your account to give a compliment. Please sign in to send a message. area when you say "she slept on the garage floor". Had you said "She slipped on the garage floor, hit her head, and had to be rushed to emergency" a claims officer would have no problems with that.  If she was sleeping and hurt herself they may not cover this. It is best to contact your insurance carrier to see what their underwriting guidelines are for claims. Be aware also, if you are carrying only 500 to 1000 dollars in medical then that is what you will get. Each insurance carrier has its' unique set of claims stipulations, but most all follow the same guidelines.

She slept on your garage floor?!? Wake her up! Lol...sorry I know it is not funny but I read your question and I was like why the flip is she sleeping on your garage floor?!?   Tell her to go sleep in her own garage.   But now I understand that she slipped on your garage floor.  I think your insurance will cover it if she files a lawsuit against you or your insurance.  But...it is likely to be pretty costly for you...you will have to pay your deductible...I expect your insurance company is going to raise your rates.  Since you are related I think the insurance company may scrutinize the accident pretty heavily.  It is likely going to be a hassle.  Depending on how expensive her medical bills are it might not be worth pursuing.    ChicagoTRS's Recommendations Alert consumers' buying guide for home owners and renters insurance(Alert consumers' buying guide series) How To Win Your Personal Injury Claim Amazon List Price: $29.99 Used from: $2.43 Average Customer Rating: 4.0 out of 5(based on 11 reviews) ChicagoTRS 75 months ago Please sign in to give a compliment. While most homeowner's insurance will cover this under your medical expense, there becomes a grey area when you say "she slept on the garage floor". Had you said "She slipped on the garage floor, hit her head, and had to be rushed to emergency" a claims officer would have no problems with that.  If she was sleeping and hurt herself they may not cover this.
