It may or may not be more expensive for you. for me it was, because California gets a lot of their road taxes from vehicle registration; while Oregon charges $36 for a two year registration; and gets their road taxes form a gasoline tax.a lot of people get away with not registering in CA, and some people who alternate living in two different states register their car in both states, and don't change their drivers' license.I think that the states(and heck, we could cooperate with Canada in this, too) should simply charge a nominal fee to adopt a part time resident's home drivers license, and let them keep the same card; but that would make too much sense.
