Here is my paper... I just need any little advice to add to my paper or any corrections that should be made.
Every individual has their own rights as a citizen of the United States of America. Once that individual commits a felon we must take away some of their rights to help punish and ensure that the felon is less likely to commit a crime again.
One loss an individual must surrender after a conviction is the right to own a firearm. This comes into place when an individual has been convicted of a felony. I agree that this right should be taken away. Being convicted of a felony, the safety of the public must be in our best interest. If we allow these felons to keep their right to bear arms we are allowing them to have an easier opportunity to commit the same crime.
Another loss that an individual must surrender is the loss of jury duty. This loss I must agree should be taken away from an individual. A person who has been convicted before is more likely to go into trial being upset with their case and either want to let whoever is on trial off the hook or be upset with their own trial that they want this person to suffer just like they did. They are not going in truly thinking about if the person is guilty or not.
The last loss I want to cover is the loss to be free from searches. After being convicted I believe it is only proper to allow law enforcement to go through and search an inmates bunk. Inmates can be really smart and hide things they are not suppose to have. For example inmates have learned how to make an alcoholic substance just from old rotten fruit. To search an inmates cell is important to make sure we ensure the safety of not only the inmate but also other inmates and the safety of the officers.
