Need help to find the right branch/job?

Postby rushford79 » Thu Mar 31, 2011 9:42 pm

Its impossible to decide for you dude. You seem to have quite an interest in law enforcement though. If you are indeed interested in strictly law enforcement, the USCG is the way to go. Especially with the new ME rate, once that calms down that would be the perfect job for someone interested in LE, especially Maritime LE. In the Army, Navy, USMC, Air Force, the law enforcement deals only with other military personnel. In the USCG however, you are a federal law enforcement officer and may arrest civilians and detain foreigners. Good luck!

Need help to find the right branch/job?

Postby stein74 » Thu Mar 31, 2011 10:06 pm

i can tell you this marines are the toughest to get into mentally and mostly physically they are the only branch that requires pull ups to join. I would say navy is harder than the army but im sure they are pretty equal in difficulty and the airforce is mostly smarts and you must go reserves to fly because you need to go to college to become an officer and only officers fly. I know more about marines, bootcamp is 3 months and you recieve your rifle during week two and after your 13 weeks you get a 10 day leave then you go to marine combat training or mct then you go on leave til your mos school picks up. To get into marine corps boot camp you need to be able to run a mile and a half in under 11:30 or 13:30 for girls and 3 pullups or 90 second flexed hang and 50 situps in under 2 min. As far as choosing your mos i cant say thats up to you but i suggest one that will benefit you once your out of service and one you really love and can live with
goodluck
