Discuss anything to do with property law - buying, selling property

Can I take someone to court over a matter that they are legally right about but morally I am?

So my boyfriend and I were renting an apartment from a management company, and the landlord/site manager at the property set up our lease for 6 months (or so we thought). When we moved into the apartment we were offered no lease, a 6 month lease or a 1 year lease. We chose the 6 month lease which was to end on October 30th, 2010. We stayed in the apartment until the end of January, ...

What do I do if the county I reside in keeps dropping the ball? My sister has had many issues with the father of her children. He will not let her and her children be, he refuses to sign custody papers and generally terrorizes them. She has had to turn to staying with family, hiding her vehicle and is now afraid to walk out her door alone. She has had 2 Orders of Protection issued, ...

If a puppy with shots is in contact with a puppy who has no shots, could the puppy with shots contract parvo?

I have an almost 11 week old Golden Retriever puppy. He has had two sets of vaccines that he needed, and he's going into the vet and getting his last one (until rabies at 6 months) next week.
He's a very healthy 25 pound puppy.(Not overweight; just really big. Infact the vet advised we feed him more because he looked just a little underweight for his size.)

So my Aunt is getting a puppy from ...

If I am accused of patent infringement, can they legally take my site down?

My site was taken down after a competitor of mine cried copyright infringement. I am uneducated on all of this intellectual property rights vs patent infringement and copyright stuff.

After I appealed it, they said they would put it back up within ten days if they didn't receive a legal notice concerning this matter. Because he filed a suit against me 6 months ago for patent infringement, is that the legal notice they are looking ...

Question about the castle law in the state of Texas?

A couple of little punks have been tearing up my family's yard, and destroying their Halloween decorations (which they put a great deal of time and effort into). The police freely admitted they'd be of no help, since they have 14 squad cars for a city of over 100,000. My question is this: If they come back, am I allowed to shoot them once they start tearing up my property? What if I just tag ...

How can anyone dislike the NLRB when it defends the rights we have on the books?

Look at the way this one employer tried to skirt labor laws by outsmarting the system. They ordered striking workers off of the property and then, believing they could legally fire them for abandonment(they were told to leave) fired them. NLRB was the hero this time. Without the NLRB, abuse like this would go unpunished.
