Obama's Rx for the Middle Class?

Postby orlondo100 » Tue Dec 20, 2011 9:10 am

"This is a make-or-break moment for the middle class."

That's not good news for the middle class. What's the big problem facing Americans today? A lack of good jobs or the fact that rich people make more now than rich people used to make?

The president seems to believe the latter. He seems to think that if Democrats raise tax rates on the wealthy, jobs will become fruitful and multiply. Or if they don't, at least he can blame Republicans for not agreeing to his economic package.

"I believe that this country succeeds when everyone gets a fair shot, when everyone does their fair share (and) when everyone plays by the same rules," Obama told Osawatomie. But his actions and his words do not mesh.

Fair shot? How much help is a fair shot if the job market isn't improving? With the world's second-highest corporate tax rate, the United States should be more competitive in the global marketplace. Yet the president's answer isn't flatter tax rates that send a positive signal to investors. No, he wants "investments" in education and technology.

In this speech, Obama didn't mention "green jobs," his erstwhile jobs of the future. A June audit found that $500 million slated for training for green jobs in 2009 created a mere 1,336 jobs that lasted six months or longer.

Obama's jobs of the future would be construction workers "rebuilding our roads and our bridges."

Problem: The administration delayed a decision on the 1,700-mile Keystone XL pipeline until 2013. That's what happens when real jobs could cost Obama his job by alienating green voters.

Fair share? In the Kansas speech, Obama extolled Minnesota manufacturer Marvin Windows and Doors for laying off workers only once in 100 years. During tough times, Obama noted, Marvin's unnamed owners shared the pain of reduced compensation with their workers.

So who is Obama's jobs czar? Not the suckers at Marvin. General Electric chief executive Jeff Immelt, whose compensation doubled last year as GE was seeking concessions from workers, is Obama's go-to guy on jobs. The New York Times reported that General Electric didn't pay a dime in federal taxes in 2010 -- even though the multinational corporation earned $5.1 billion in U.S. profits.

Obama is alien because he was brought up by communists and leftists and hung around nothing but the same type of people his entire life. He has no clue what made America great; people that came here from other lands and became citizens could give Obama lessons on what it means to be an American.

Obama's Rx for the Middle Class?

ALL Democrats' prescription for the middle class is to drive them into poverty.
Back when Fascism was "cool" and they dared to be honest they SAID SO. Now that they ALL push the exact same agenda written by their openly fascist predecessors, they claim it's to deliver the opposite effect.

He doesn't seem to care about the white working class voters, this article says he does not need them to get reelected

I think this was suppose to be funny, indirectly saying "rednecks" by saying white working class voters

Jobs Bill create jobs repairing badly needed infrastructure. Cost a sur tax of $500.00 Extra at One million one dollar. Will not hurt bottom line of that tax base.

Keystone pipeline on the table as it should be. Originally lined right through one of our largest underground water tables. pipelines leak and omit. I think Canada has agreed to move it. There are issues that need to be addressed. Our water is important as well as the wildlife. Maybe they will come up with an agreeable solution but you can not say it is more important than our badly defaulted infrastructure.

While there are extremists on both sides the fact is the jobs bill and the pay roll tax cuts affect the economy more than a pipeline that needs to be safe. No rush for the oil companies. It is said the Koch Brothers wil be the biggest gainers so is it no wonder murdoch is promoting it on FOX. Wake up and look how Fox Promotes the greed's that took over the GOP. If you cared you would look at your other Republican candidates shouting at the top of their lungs to be heard. You cannot hear them because the Tea Party Corporation does not want you to. Fox viewers have not a clue unless they get facts and watch everything then form an opinion. Education is Freedom FOX is brainwashing.

The pipeline cannot be quickly passed with trust that the Koch Bros and oil companies have it all under control. Look at their record and you say pass in blind trust? No! Only the corrupt politicians in the GOP and their Murdoch station say that. We may very well get the pipeline but the gas lines blowing up and falling bridges are of less importance to you because why? The jobs bill first the pipeline when we have facts it is going to be safe and more in the interest of the country than the Tea Party Corporation Founders the Koch Bros.

Put your country first and do not make Fox your only source of information. Our Gulf Coast is still in recovery mode from BP fraud. Pipelines should be slow with the record of these people who are involved. If something went wrong it would be Obama's fault. I have never seen people eat up such propaganda, lies, and brainwashing until a black man was elected.

Not the America I am proud of. I am embarrassed by those who hate and ask those who mean no harm to expand your information sources and look at facts.

It is not American to support a private citizen taking over congress and there is no hope if you think a rich guy should have control over our congress law making. It is dangerous and sad.
