you are generalizing a bit more than necessary, I think. of course, that illustrates my statement about extremists poisoning the culture. - the extreme members of the sects are the ones people notice.I am reminded of a statement I made about a left wing opinion piece written after Bush appointed a pro-life appointee: I made the comment that according to the particular opinion piece this new appointee was going to outlaw abortion and birth control and then mandate sex for all women over 16.we live in a very reactionary culture, and it is very easy to slip into a reactionary attitude as a result. currently I question whether the IUD(the form of birth control threatened by the "personhood" bill) is a healthy method to use, but I do not consider it murder. I do know women who feel guilt about past abortions, but none who experience persecution over it. I've known catholics who felt more cognitive dissonance over using a condom than the extramarital sex they were engaging in. personally, I feel that if people use the "christian morality" model as a guideline for their OWN sexual activites(and recognize the catholic canon against birth control was based on an incident that was taken COMPLETELY out of context) then we would have a lot less issues and arguments.
