This cafe does not sell mj, which would be illegal, of course. Also, all people to go to the canibus cafe must enter from the back of the building descreetly without being in plain sight from the street. The way the canibus cafe was begun was first privately by a group of ill people who all used medical marijuana as their legal medicine, and wanted a place they could gather and find community and exchange with fellow marijuana users, having so much in common when it also comes to having medical conditions requiring them to use the medicine. To frequent this cafe, you also have to be a resident, registered legal user of mj, and registered with the cafe.I think I need to move there !!!Anyone who's interested in helping work on the legislation of legalizing medical marajuana can go to MPP(Marijuana Policy Project) at www.mpp.org .Could you blame someone for smoking illegal mj when their anti-nausia pills cost $80/each?

I think it's a fair step towards legalizing a drug that our government went thru draconian lengths to criminalize. And one theory on why it was criminalized is that the original inhabitants(Mexicans) preferred smoking an easily obtainable herb(grows like a weed!) instead of buying American beer like good, capitalist Americans do. The theory was that if the marijuana were criminalized, they'd have to buy American made beer. Ha ha. All that did was lead to the creation of "Corona" brand water, so that didn't work. We might as well put it back since legalized marijuana is certainly better than continued sales of Corona water. danielpauldavis 50 months ago Please sign in to give a compliment. I wish they would just legalize it. They could focus on other issues if they did and farmers could grow it and get paid for it. It would stop so much of the trafficking that goes on due to it. Law enforcement would then be open to other things. I would like it legal everywhere.

You can meet as a group, and smoke your cannibis at home.  I am sure the neighbors are not thrilled by people lurking in the alleys.   One would think you would get MORE nauseous from the smoking.   I walk down the street here in the city, and the smell makes me heave. Also smoking damages the lungs.   As for pain relief, why not just EAT it? I hear brownies are great and a friend of mine recommended using seeds, twigs and all, cooked in the butter you would use for the recipe. That way you don?t have to bother drying it out etc. in order to be able to smoke it, papers, matches, etc.    IMHO, alcohol is far more harmful a drug than MJ.    Amsterdam has bars and cafes like this and it is not the end of civilization as we know it.   So I am glad they are getting some pain relief, but I also wonder at the wisdom of making themselves so visible to people in society who will not sympathize with their plight.

Maybe I am missing the point, but why would you need a cafe for it? I think medical marijuana, just like pills for depression and anxiety, doctors are too quick to pull out the prescription pad.
