Part Time H1b And School Full Time?

Hello,

I am currently working with full time H1B, I am planning to go back to school, and I am wondering whether I could change from full time H1B to part time H1B and go to school full time. Do I need another student visa for me to back school?

I understand that I cannot work as Research assistant or Teaching assistant at school, but can I get scholarship and grant from school?

I would really appreciated your help.

Hi,

An amended H1B petition can be filed to convert from full-time to part-time employment. You will continue to maintain H1B status even if you hold only one part-time job.

You can attend school part-time, but not full-time, when on H1B status.

Since you will be on H1B status, you cannot work on-campus part-time, or receive OPT, etc. since these privileges require F1 status.
