I own and operate a small patent law firm. I've been organized for about two years. While I make reasonable money, I would like to start growing from a one man operation to a respectable law firm. My problem is that I am not very good at marketing to companies. Sure with people, you take an add in the paper, use social media, etc. But let's be honest: most "people" cannot afford my billing rate. even if they can, it's one case, which means I have to get a lot more people to give me the same amount of work one R&D business would give me.
I really have no idea where to start to land a couple companies. My major client right now is a patent management company that needs patent people to work for them, but they fell into my lap though a friend of a friend. I don't expect to get lucky like that again.
Does anyone have any experience marketing to executives for businesses to get them interested in your services? What techniques would you suggest?
