Penalty for stealing grandma's credit card?

Postby andor25 » Wed Mar 07, 2012 10:48 am

This girl i know stole her grandma's credit card and had been using it for the past month to make numerous purchases. Her grandparents just found out that someone (her) used over $3,000 of their money. The police in our town and the neighboring city are involved and are investigating the places where the card was used. I have no doubt the girl will be caught. My question is what the penalty for her will be. Her only other offenses are a couple speeding tickets and an underage drinking charge (she's 19).

P.S.- We live in Illinois

Well, I think her grandmother will have to press charges. More than likely, her grandmother won't do that....She should probably tell her grandmother immediately.

Penalty for stealing grandma's credit card?

It's the same penalty for stealing anyone's credit card. It's fraud, and I'm pretty sure that it's going to be a felony, going by the amount that she charged.
