Will I be arrested for my credit card debt?

Postby philibert63 » Sun Jul 15, 2012 3:01 am

I was a international student at U.S. from 1995 to 2003. I returned to my home country at Oct. 2003. Before my leaving from U.S. I have some credit card bebt and one traffic ticket unpaid. The amount of debt is about $30,000. Since I was alone at U.S., I don't know what the credit card company did for me during last 9 years. I am thinking of moving back to U.S. sometime next years. Can someone tell me what I will face when I come back to U.S.? Will I be arrested for debt or traffic ticket? It has been 9 years.

The credit card debt you don't have to worry about since 9-years is way past the statute of limitations in every State.

The traffic ticket on the other hand would be a city or State issue. So depending on where you move it could come back to bite you.

Good luck.
