Pet-sitting Income

Postby Taneli » Sat Mar 21, 2015 7:13 am

s About Taxes)/Pet-Sitting Income Advertisement Expert: John Stancil, CPA - 3/28/2009 I have tried to do some research but still have some confusion. Should I report income from pet-sitting or baby sitting? These are not services I advertise or do for regular income, but I do get paid for pet-sitting($20/day) and I pet sit for a total of about 4 weeks each year.

Pet-sitting Income

Janet,

Thanks for your question.

Yes, that is taxable income.  You should report it on Schedule C, where you can also deduct any expenses incurred in earning the money.  If your net earnings are $400 or more you should complete Schedule SE for the self-employment tax.

Hope this helps.
