Peugeot 206 55 cigarette lighter?

Postby smid » Sat Feb 25, 2012 8:10 am

Hi, having a few problems with the cigarette lighter in my 206. A few months back I noticed the cigarette lighter wasn't working when trying to charge a sat nav however my sister in law owned the car then and decided she didn't need it so not to bother fault finding. Now Ive bought the car from her I've found the cigarette lighter won't push down at all and you can't insert any chargers into it, she said this happened whilst fiddling with it in traffic. Does it sound like a whole new unit is needed then possibly find why it wasn't recieveing any power?? Also the boot light and glove box light doesn't work and the interior light will only work on door open setting but won't work on manual setting. Could this be linked to why there was no power to the fag lighter a few months back?? Any help appreciated. Sorry for lack of info but she never took any notice of what worked and when.

Peugeots aren't normal.

glovebox light, interior light and ciggy socket are all on the same fuse, it's a 30A and fuse no. 22
4th fuse from the left in the top row in the fuseblock under the steering column. It's sortof on its own.

It could be dirt in the socket though if it works intermittently.

Usually the cig lighter socket is supplied by it's own fuse, so it is unlikely to be linked to any other circuits. Check the fuse for the cig lighter it is probably blown.
