--marty i did not want to many of my prototypes made untile i got things sorted out.I thought about making them and selling on ebay and other places and make as much money as possibile before the big guys step in.becouse am married with kids i have a lot of responcabilitys at the moment.Do you thing there may be a market for this my portable wiper thanks marty joe--------------------- Followup To - marty i have tested the wiper for about a year now its never let me down no mater the weather conditions or speed.marty it has the same power and strenth as the front windshield wipers.and no it does not block your view and you can still roll down the window.the wiper can even be used for an emergency wiper.the survey was just the public asking what there views where about the portable wiper and the survey was local not world wide.i can develop them myself they are so simple to make.marty i saw to patents for the portable wipers at the uspo dateing back about 8 years ago.but after studying them there is no way they could work as efficiently as mine--his name is adam g macie under portable vehicle wiper.i dont know if this is expired or still active.thanks marty for your fast responce joe----------------------- Followup To - marty i have a fully working and well tested side window wiper for cars.fits on the car in seconds same to remove.problem is during my survey some people said great idea then some said dont need them as they have got use to not having them.i thing the bigest task i would have is to convince the public it is a great safty product.the reason i am asking you this is that i dont want to waste money on a patent.what should i do any information would be appreciated thanks

Well, it sounds like a neat invention for aftermarket auto stores.  How many do you have made?  Can you go to auto stores and sell them?  If I understand you correctly, this idea isn't patented by you yet, is that correct?  What I would do is file a provisional patent and that protects you for one year.  After the completion of that year, you HAVE TO get the patent or you loose rights to your idea, isn't a catch 22 but if you plan on getting a patent, it doesn't affect you.  You can sell them to the auto a dealer if it is patent pending also, so no worries from that.  Let me know what I can do to help, I love helping people realize their dreams and idea into reality....

Intresting idea!  I can see why it would be a saftey enhancement. A few questions;

Where did your surveys come from?  What was the test size?  What were the results?  I think that a good market would be aftermarket auto stores.  What other venues have you thought of to market your wiper?  Let me know the answers to these questions and we can explore more.  Until then....
